A closing, a celebration, and a necessary presence
Participating in the group exhibition “THANK YOU RÖMERHOF – 5 years of ART” holds a special meaning for me. This is not just another show in Zürich’s artistic calendar; it is a gesture of farewell. The Joss Toledo Art Gallery is closing its doors after five years of intense, diverse, and deeply committed activity within the local art scene.
Being part of this final chapter is an honour. Over the years, the gallery has brought together artists, audiences, neighbours, collectors, and art lovers who found in Römerhof a living, accessible, and honest space. Now, in its farewell, we gather once more: Boris Edwards, Honys Torres, Tina Behnstedt, Isabella Bieri, Maria Fernanda Schulz, Irene Rodriguez, Katja Elsesser, Eve Roth, Iris Liechti, and Cécilia, sharing artworks and shared memory.
For me, HONYS TORRES, this participation is also a way of giving thanks. Thanks for the encounters, the conversations, the risks taken together, the works that passed through these walls, and the ones that stayed in the eyes of those who visited. Thanks for the constancy of an independent space that held its vision even in challenging times.
Closures are not silences; they are transitions. They are archives being completed. They are chapters closing so that others may open.
I will be present with recent work, in dialogue with this moment of farewell that is also a celebration: five years of work, community, and art.
Dates: 29.04 – 02.05.2026 Location: Joss Toledo Art Gallery, Asylstrasse 66, 8032 Zürich Römerhof
Thank you, Römerhof. Thank you for the space, the trust, and the shared memory.
